I studied Public Governance across Borders at the University of Münster and the University of Twente, with additional semesters in Istanbul and Warsaw. Journalism became my passion during an internship at radio aktiv in my home region of Weserbergland. Currently, I am completing my studies in the LUMID program at Lund University, a master’s program focused on international development and management, combining academic research with practical experience in global development work.

As a journalist, I have contributed to The Perspective, the magazine of the Swedish Foreign Policy Association (UPF), as well as zenith and the Candid Foundation, covering political, societal, and cultural issues. My travels have taken me to many places, including an extended journey through China in 2024.
I am always looking for new stories, connections, and collaborations. Get in touch!
Luc Appold – Journalist with a Global Perspective
Born and raised in the rural heart of Lower Saxony, I was always drawn to the world beyond. My journey started with a weltwärts volunteer service in La Paz, Bolivia, where I worked with shoe shiners—an experience that deeply shaped my perspective on social issues.

Wherever I went, I immersed myself in the local language, gaining fluency in English and Spanish, alongside working knowledge of French, Swedish, Polish, Turkish, and Dutch. My international network spans across continents, allowing me to report with firsthand insight.
